Crazy Long Time!

It's been such a long time since we updated, people are probably not checking anymore! I don't blame ya...

Jazz and I in Horse Shoe Canyon yesterday...we went to Drumheller with our friends Tara and Dan.
A whole bunch of teachers who showed up to a Street Meet to support the Ups and Downs Society for kids with Downs Syndrome.

Us kids with daddy on Father's Day!

Me on my 27th birthday! My fabulous husband had 2 days of Surprise Parties for me!

I got a Wii for my birthday so they were checkin' it out!

Gotta love summer time!

Doodilee-Doo

Extra! Extra! Read all about it:

Can you tell that I chopped my hair off???

Jazz has been working his new job for 3 weeks now and we got the benefit of one of the perks: free tickets to a hockey game. Friday night we went to the Calgary Hitmen game (WHL not NHL) and got awesome seats (5th row)! It was Jazz's very first time at a real life hockey game! (I think he was busier taking a bizzillion pictures rather than watching the game though :)

Last weekend was Easter and dad came over and he and I made a feast together. We had fun all day playing games while the turkey was cooking. It was a great family day.

Here's dad with the barbeque:

Now it's snowing again. Jazz is pumped. He's hoping we'll find a sled for sale so that he can finally go hit the slopes! We'll let you know...

No More Deep Freeze!

The weather here changes fast! It's been beautiful for weeks now! And things have really been coming together for us.
  • Jazz starts his job tomorrow after a couple of weeks of bargaining!

  • We booked a flight to Vancouver for the beginning of April.

  • I won my very first poker night with moola on the line (and was introduced to Wii, yikes for my Nintendo craze!) Go to Joe and Cey's blog for photos and video, hahaha!

  • Macaroni dinners are working it's way into our monthly Sunday dinner with family! YUM! Today we go to dad's for barbeque.

  • Shanna, Evan and I are being intentional with time spent together :)

DEEP FREEZE!!

Yes peeps! I've thrown myself headlong into the BIG CHILL here in Canada in my new home of Calgary. I've done quite a bit of exploring, kitting myself out with my thermals before heading out on my near Arctic explorations! I've taken walks to Downtown Calgary mainly, checking out the various shops and businesses, familiarising myself with the business capital of the Canadian province of Alberta. Unfortunately I kept forgetting to bring my camera on my missions but I've got a few pics so far to give you guys in London a chilly visual experience in case you dare to come visit!

These are some pics of the amazing views I took while flying over Greenland on the flight to Canada. Something to 'warm me up' to what I'd be getting myself into!

A closer-to-home example of what I'm now dealing with. The beginning of a day in the life of Terra in winter here in Canada. :o) These were her finishing touches after digging her car out of the snow before heading to school!

And me? This was after a short walk to 7 Eleven on Friday evening to pick up some milk where outside it was -30celcius! Terra got a couple of quick pics of me in the snow:

Notice how ice has formed on my eyelashes! Not only that, in this weather one gets the weird sensation of ones nose hairs freezing too! In spite of this cold so far it's all been fun and intreguing for me which makes it all still seem like another holiday here...

...any of ya'll care to join me?

HIP HIP HORRAY!

Hubby is here and we've already been celebrating -- his arrival and the Superbowl. Here are some of the party attendees. Don't be fooled, they were having fun!

And as part of the half-time dinner, Jazz made us some maccaroni and cheese! My favorite! YUMMY!

Since Superbowl Sunday, Jazz has been a busy little Canadian. Taking walks in the moderate cold (and freezing his eyebrows and nose hairs -- good thing he's got thermal underclotes and socks to keep the rest of him warm), getting his Social Insurance Number so he can get a job, and familiarizing himself with the area. I've been working, but I took yesterday off and Jazz drove us around to get his Alberta drivers lisence and banking all sorted.
We're thrilled to be together at long last! It's beginning to feel somewhat normal, but not quite. Still vacation mode a bit, but not for long...I'm sure real life will hit us soon enough!

The Day We've Waited 2 Years For!!!

In 2 and a half hours, the wait is over! My lover/partner/husband/friend will be officially immigrating into Canada and staying for GOOD! Some of you have had to witness the dance of joy overtaking my senses!!! Those of you who haven't seen the dance know me well enough to know how it goes down! So dance with me friends! One dream is coming true, one prayer has been answered.

Get down, get down, boogie, get down, get down, boogie...

Getting Ready!

Today Sister and I switched rooms so that when Jazz arrives we have the larger room! It was weird. Wednesday, I get a bedroom set delivered. I was trying to wait until Jazz got here, but I caved. At least now it will be ready when he arrives and he can watch the Superbowl without me nagging him to go shopping!

13 more sleeps alone!
